Film Scoring Practice:
Star Trek

THE FINAL FRONTIER

You know what they say about practice making perfect…

A while ago I had a chance to spend a bit of time on practicing film scoring. Getting hands-on experience is always good — not that I have an aversion to the study of theory, for that matter.  I got a clip from Star Trek: Into Darkness, and set to it!

The work didn’t take me long — a few hours — and turned out quite alright. Granted, it’s pretty standard background music for an action scene, nothing fancy… But it works, right? Let me know what you think!

On a sidenote, I’ve never had a lot of exposure to Star Trek, but I’ve thought that the Star Trek films with Chris Pine & co. have been very enjoyable!  Live long, and prosper.
